Amazing...as I watched, I had such a wide range of emotions: sadness, grief, sense of lightening the load and freedom, courage....most of all sadness that these pieces, which some I recalled were gone....is change good?.....is looking forward without carrying a huge bag of the "past" what this is? Most of all it's wildly honest....bravo.... From one of your most loving supporters.....
ReplyDeleteThank you. I appreciate all of the thoughts related to this. It is very much related to all of those things you touched upon (working through emotions, looking forward, lightening the load, etc.). I often approach my art as catharsis, as a means of working through things, and the intensity of the experience (especially in the challenging, emotional, raw and endurance-based works) helps me to release for all that the flood can be difficult to work through all at once in aftermath. I feel I was able to get some things off my chest that I've been carrying for some time now, and I definitely feel like I'm coming to a better place because of that release.
